Talk about what you do when your child is at kindergarten.
I am a full-time homemaker with a 7-year-old son. My son now attends kindergarten. I had been looking forward to it, since it would give me some time to myself while he was there. But even after sending him off to kindergarten, it wasn't easy getting some alone time when I got home. I've actually been immersed in English lately.
So as soon as I get home, I clear the breakfast table and tune in to "입트영" to study for a while. After that, I have to run the washing machine, pick up the toys, and throw out the recycling. And by the time I cook side dishes, a lot of time has already passed. I regret that I never have enough time for my English studies, which I enjoy so much. I actually amaze myself, as I have never longed to study English so much.
나는 7살 아들을 키우는 전업주부이다. 아들은 이제 유치원에 다닌다. 아이가 등원한 시간 동안 나 혼자만의 시간이 생길 것 같아서 기대를 했었다. 그러나 막상 아이를 등원시킨 후 집에 돌아오면 온전히 나만의 시간을 갖는 것은 쉬운 일이 아니었다. 사실 요즘 나는 영어에 푹 빠져있다.
그래서 집에 오자마자 아침 먹은 식탁을 치우고 "입트영"을 들으며 잠시 공부를 한다. 그러고 나서 세탁기를 돌리고, 장난감을 정리하고, 재활용품을 내다 버려야 한다. 그리고 반찬 거리들을 만들 때 쯤이면 시간이 이미 많이 지나 있다. 내가 무척 좋아하는 영어 공부 시간이 늘 부족한게 너무 아쉽다. 사실 내 인생에서 이렇게 영어 공부가 간절했던 적이 있었나 놀라울 정도이다.
