Traffic Accidnets. (교통 사고)
During my ten years behind the wheel, I have been in two traffic accidents. Each time, the accident occurred bacause the other driver who was at fault didn't properly understand the traffic regulations.
The first accident occurred at a three-way intersection with no traffic lights. I was heading straight, when a car waiting to hang a left suddenly cut in and hit my driver's door. The driver got out of his car and hurled insults at me. I had to explain to him that in a three-way intersection with no traffic lights, the car going straight has the right of way.
The second accident took place in a traffic circle. I was already driving in the circle, when the other car merged in and sideswiped my car. Then, too, the driver blew his top even though he was in the wrong. I explained that cars in the traffic circle are given priority, while entering cars must yield.
저는 10년간 운전을 하며 두 번의 교통사고를 경험했습니다. 매번 과실이 있는 상대 운전자들이 교통 법규를 제대로 알지 못해서 일어난 사고들이었습니다.
첫번째 사고는 교통 신호가 없는 삼거리 교차로에서 일어났습니다. 제가 직진 차로로 가고 있었는데, 좌회전 하려고 기다리던 차가 갑자기 끼어들어 제 운전석 문을 들이받았습니다. 그 운전자는 차에서 내려 저에게 욕을 퍼부었습니다. 그래서 신호 없는 삼거리 교차로에서는 직진 차량이 통행 우선권이 있다는 것을 설명해 줘야 했습니다.
두번째 사고는 회전 교차로에서 일어났습니다. 제가 회전 교차로를 돌고 있었는데, 상대 차량이 진입하면서 제 차의 측면에 부딪쳤습니다. 그때도 상대 운전자가 적반하장으로 크게 화를 냈습니다. 저는 회전 교차로에 있는 차량이 우선권이 있고, 진입하는 차량이 양보해야 한다는 것을 설명해 주었습니다.
