Raising pet lizards.
Raising lizards as companion animals has emerged as a hot new trend. Stores specializing in reptiles and lizards are popping up everywhere. Lizards are very diverse, so it's fun to choose one that is just right for you. They come in many colors, and some people raise several of them as a hobby. Three of my own friends currently raise lizards.
I am raising a male crested gecko, a type of lizard. These little guys are easy to raise, because they don't require a lot of room in their cage. All you have to do is maintain the humidity and temperature at an appropriate level. There's a special type of pet food just for them, which means I don't need to feed them crickets.
I play with my lizard each time I feed him, once every other day. My lizard flicks his tongue to eat his food. On days when he really eats his fill, I feel as glad as if he were my own baby.
도마뱀 키우기.
도마뱀을 반려동물로 키우는 것이 최근에 큰 인기를 끌고 있습니다. 파충류나 도마뱀 전문 매장도 여기저기 생겨나고 있습니다. 도마뱀은 종류가 매우 다양해서 자신에게 딱 맞는 도마뱀을 찾는 재미가 있습니다. 색상이 다양해서 취미 삼아 여러 마리를 키우는 사라들도 있습니다. 제 친구들 중에는 현재 세명이나 도마뱀을 키우고 있습니다.
저는 "크레스티드 게코"라는 수컷 도마뱀을 키웁니다. 이 작은 친구들은 사육장이 크지 않아도 돼서 키우기가 쉬운 편입니다. 습도와 온도만 적정 수준으로 유지해 주면 됩니다. 그리고 도마뱀을 위한 전용 사료가 있어서 귀뚜라미를 먹이로 주지 않아도 됩니다.
저는 이틀에 한 번씩 먹이를 줄 때마다 도마뱀과 놀아 줍니다. 제 도마뱀은 혀를 날름거리며 먹이를 먹습니다. 먹이를 많이 먹은 날에는 마치 제 아기인 것처럼 기쁨니다.
