A: I feel sorry for my manager. He is struggling every time we have video conferencing.
B: So, he's not familiar with computers?
A: I guess not. His screen keeps freezing, and he doesn't know that to do.
B: It must be frustrating.

제인은 네가 안됐다고 생각해. 그녀는 네가 너무 일을 많이 한다고 생각해.
그는 자기 자신이 안쓰럼다고 여긴다. 왜냐하면 이제 그는 빈털터리가 되었기 때문이다.

I feel sorry for you. I mean you're doing all the work here.
Jane feels sorry for you. She thinks you're overworked.
He feels sorry for himself, because now he's broke.

<대화>

A: 커피 마시면서 걸으니까 정말 좋네요.
B: 네, 소화도 잘될 거예요.
A: 나이 드는 게 좋은 것 같지 않으세요?
B: 그런 거 같아요. 전보다 훨씬 행복하다고 느껴지니까요.
A: 젊었을 때는 하늘을 쳐다보지 않았어요. 이런 꽃이나 새들이 있어서 좋다고 생각하지도 않았고요.
B: 그런데, 저 새 이름이 뭔지 혹시 아세요?

A: It's so nice to walk while drinking coffee.
B: Yes, It's also going to be helpful for digestion.
A: Don't you think it's good to be old.
B: I think so. I feel much happier than I used to.
A: I didn't look at the sky when I was young. I never even appreciated these flowers and birds.
B: But, do you know the name of that bird?

Talk about a trip you took through Europe.

In 2016, I traveled for a month through 9 Estern European countries with 3 friends in their late 60s. We leased a small car and took turns driving to get around. We had a hard time because we hadn't done enough research in advance about the area, and we didn't speak English fluently. Still we were able to finish our trip without incident thanks to the friendly locals.

The rural areas of Europe that we saw during the trip were very picturesque. We envied the vast open fields and the way the natural environment had been preserved. Driving on the arrow-straight roads was also a fantastic experience. During out trip through Europe, we felt a sense of release from our grinding toutines. We also strengthened our friendship with each other.

유럽 여행을 다녀온 경험에 대해 이야기해 주세요.

나는 2016년에 60대 후반인 친구 세 명과 함께 동유럽 9개국을 한 달간 여행했다. 소형 자동차를 빌려서 교대로 운전을 하며 이동했다. 현지 상황에 대한 사전 조사가 부족했고 영어를 유창하게 구사하지 못해서 여러 가지 어려움이 있기도 했다. 그러나 친절한 현지인들 덕분에 여행을 무사히 마칠 수 있었다.

여행을 하면서 보았던 유럽의 농촌 지역은 한 폭의 그림 같았다. 끝없이 펼쳐진 광활한 대지와 잘 보존된 자연환경이 부럽기도 했다. 곧게 뻗은 직선 도로에서 운전하는 것 또한 정말 환상적인 경험이었다. 유럽 여행을 하는 동안 우리는 힘든 일상으로부터 해방감을 느꼈다. 그리고 서로 간의 우정도 더욱 돈독해졌다.
