Level 2. 이지 잉글리쉬.

A: 오늘 불러 주셔서 감사해요.
B: 와서 앉으세요. 제가 직접 이 닭칼국수를 만들었답니다.
A: 와, 냄새가 정말 좋아요. 요리를 잘하시는 줄은 몰랐네요.
B: 입맛에 맞으셨으면 좋겠어요.
A: 이 냄새를 맡으니까 배가 더 고파지는데요.

A: Thanks for having me today.
B: Come and have a seat. I made these chicken noodles myself.
A: Wow, it smells good. I didn't know you were good at cooking.
B: I hope you like it.
A: This smell is making me hungrier.

Level 3. 입트영.

Talk about Korea's healthcare system.

Korea's medical insurance system is the envy of the world. In most cases, you can receive treatment at a clinic or a hospital, and it won't break the bank. That's why people think nothing of visiting a clinic even for light cold symptoms.

In contrast, medical insurance in the States is mostly provided by private companies. This makes medical fees far more expensive than in Korea. That's why many Koreans who reside temporatily in the U.S. put off seeing a doctor and rely on over-the-counter medication. When they need serious treatment like going under the knife, they often wait until they return to Korea.

But even in Korea, there several treatments that aren't covered by health insurance. I hope that more and more items will eventually receive insurance coverage.

한국의 건강 보험 시스템에 대해 이야기해 주세요.

한국의 의료 보험 시스템은 세계적으로 선망의 대상이다. 대부분의 경우, 큰 비용이 들지 않고도 병원에 가서 진료를 받을 수 있다. 그래서 사람들은 가벼운 감기 증상에도 대수롭지 않게 병원을 찾는다.

반면, 미국에서는 대부분의 의료 보험을 민간 기업이 제공하기 때문에, 한국에 비해 진료비가 훨씬 비싸다. 그래서 미국에 임시로 거주하는 한국인들의 경우 의사의 진료를 미루고, 처방전이 필요 없는 일반 의약품에 의존하는 경우가 많다. 수술을 받는 것처럼 큰 치료가 필요하면 한국에 귀국할 때까지 기다리는 경우도 많다.

하지만 한국에서도 건강 보험이 적용되지 않는 치료 항목이 여러 개 있다. 건강 보험에 적용되는 항목들이 점차 확대되었으면 하는 바람이다.
