A: 사람들이랑 같이 밥을 먹으면 뭐가 좋은지 아세요?
B: 알거 같아요.
A: 사람들이랑 같이 먹으면 입맛이 더 좋아진다고 하더라고요.
B: 그래요? 맞는 말 같네요.

Talk about Admiral Yi sun-sin.

Throughout history, there have been thriving exchanges between Korea and Japan. But the two countries also bumped heads in several wars. A major example of Japanese invasion of Korea was the Imjin War in 1952. With violent force, Japanese troops marched on Joseon.

At the time, Admiral Yi sun-sin was the commander of the naval forces in Jeolla Province. He notched many victories in naval battels against the Japanese. In doing so, he cut off the enemy's supply chain and changed the course of the war. In the Battle of Myeongnyang, he sank hundreds of enemy ships despite being outnumbered with just over 10 ships. Sadly, he died in battle during his last fight against the enemy.

Admiral Yi sun-sin's loyaty, courage, and resolute spirit still resonate with people today. He is one of the most deeply admired historical figures of all time in Korea.

이순신 장군에 대해 이야기해 주세요.

역사적으로 한국과 일본은 서로 활발한 교류를 하기도 했지만, 양국은 몇 차례 전쟁을 치르기도 했습니다. 일본이 한국을 침략했던 대표적인 전쟁 중 하나가 1952년에 발발했던 임진왜란이었습니다. 일본군은 파죽지세로 조선 영토로 진격했습니다.

그 당시, 전라도 수군 사령관이었던 이순신 장군은 일본과의 해전에서 여러 차례 승리를 거두었습니다. 그럼으로써, 적의 보급로를 차단하며 전쟁의 판세를 바꿔 놓았습니다. 명량해전에서는 수적 열세에도 불구하고 단 10여 척의 배로 적의 함선 수백여 척을 격침시켰습니다. 안타깝게도 적과 벌어진 마지막 전투에서 그는 전사했습니다.

이순신 장군의 충정, 용기, 굳은 의지는 오늘날까지도 사람들에게 깊은 울림을 줍니다. 그는 한국에서 역대 가장 존경받는 위인 중 한 사람입니다.
