Deacribe what is like to teach Korean to a foreigner.
외국인에게 한국어를 가르치는 일에 대해 이야기해 주세요.

I live in Japan, and teach Korean to Japanese people. During the Japanese occupation of Korea, the Japanese forced Koreans to learn Japanese. But now, I teach Korean to Japanese people who come knocking at my door to learn the language. I feel a deep sense of accomplishment, and always feel grateful doing what I do.

Japanese men and women of all ages want to learn Korean. The relationship between the two countries has turned frosty recently, but those who come to learn Korean still study diligently and happily.

The popularity of Korean pop culture is on the rise these days, and I feel like even more people are trying to learn the language. I hope that Korean will be embraced by more people around the world in the future.

​저는 일본에서 살고, 일본 사람들에게 한국어를 가르치고 있습니다. 일제 강점기에는 일본이 한국 사람들에게 강제로 일본어를 배우게 했습니다. 그러나 지금, 저는 한국어를 배우려고 자진해서 찾아오는 일본인들에게 한국어를 가르치고 있습니다. 정말 가슴 벅찬 성취감을 느끼며, 항상 감사한 마음으로 제 일을 하고 있습니다.

한국어를 배우려는 일본인들은 남녀노소 정말 다양합니다. 최근 한일 양국 간의 관계가 상당히 냉랭해졌지만, 그래도 한국어를 배우러 오는 분들은 꾸준히 즐겁게 공부하고 있습니다.

요즘은 한국 대중문화의 인기가 더 높아지면서, 한국어를 배우려는 사람들이 더욱더 많아지고 있는 느낌입니다. 앞으로 한국어가 전 세계적으로 더 많은 사람들에게 사랑받았으면 하는 바람입니다.
