3. What are some common mistakes novice drivers make?

SPEECH PRACTICE

Describe how you learned how to drive.

[Response]

I recently received my sister's 10-year-old used car, and started driving it. I got my driver's license 15 years ago, but I only recently started to get behind the wheel. I didn't have anyone to teach me, so I took driving lessons. They were expensive, at 50,000 won per hour, but I had no other choice.

I received 2-hour-long lessons for five days, using a car provided by the driving school. I practiced on the road for two days, and practiced how to park for the remaining three days. The instructor taught me formulas for parking, but it was slow going at first. I also searched for Youtube videos that gave pointers on how to park well.

As I started to drive my own car, I got car insurance. The insurance policy was a little cheaper because I signed up for it on an app, but it still exceeded 1 million won because I was a novice driver.

B : No, not yet. Driving too fast still freaks me out a little.
A : It's the same for everyone as first. You'll get the hang of it after a while.
B : I guess I will. Also, I am bad with directions, so I always need the sat-nav.

A : 그렇구나.
