The coronavirus has led many people to realize the importance of washing their hands. People often touch their nose or mouth, without even thinking about it. This spreads germs to the respiratory system, leading to disease. You can get rid of most germs just by cleaning your hands well, and often. It's an integral part of preventing disease.
Etiquette related to coughing is also important. Secretions from coughing can contain pathogens. It's best to cover your mouth with your sleeve when you cough. It's how you can look out for others. If you use your hands instead, the germs can get on them and infect other people.


[해석]

코로나바이라스 사태를 겪으면서 많은 사람들은 손 씻기의 중요성에 대해 실감하게 되었다. 사람들은 자기도 모르게 손으로 코나 입을 만지는 경우가 많다. 이로 인해 호흡기에 병균이 옮겨져서 병에 걸릴 수 있다. 손을 자주 깨끗하게 씻기만 해도 병균을 대부분 제거할 수 있다. 이는 질병 예방에 아주 중요한 역할을 한다.
기침 예절 역시 매우 중요하다. 기침을 할 때 나오는 분비물에 병원균이 있을 수 있다. 그래서 기침을 할 때는 옷소매로 입을 가리고 하는 것이 가장 좋다. 이것이 상대방에 대한 배려이다. 손으로 대신 가리고 할 경우, 병원균이 손에 묻어 다른 이들에게 감염이 될 수 있다.
