Today is election day. Korea holds an election to elect lawmakers once every four years. Recently, the election laws were revised. Of the 300 parliamentary seats, 253 will be elected directly in the electoral districts. The remaining 47 seats are elected through proportional representation.
Due to the revised laws, people are eligible to vote at 18. This means that high school seniors will also have a say in the election. Election day is designated as a temporary national holiday. Voting is a chance for voters to make themselves hears. That's why it's important to vote and support the right candidate. Elections are the highlight of democracy.

오늘은 국회 의원 선거가 있는 날이다. 한국에서는 4년에 한 번씩 국회 의원 선거를 한다. 최근 선거법이 개정되었다. 국회 의석 300석 중 253석은 지역구에서 직접 선출되고, 나머지 47석은 정당의 득표율에 따라 비례 대표제를 통해 선출된다.
선거법 개정으로 선거 연령이 18세로 낮아졌다. 이에 따라 고등학교 3학년 학생들도 선거에 참여하게 된다. 선거일은 임시 공휴일로 지정이 된다. 선거 참여는 유권자가 자신의 의견을 피력할 수 있는 기회를 준다. 그래서 투표를 해서 올바른 후보를 지지하는 것은 중요하다. 선거는 민주주의의 꽃이다.
