[STEP1] 한국의 송년회에 대해 이야기해 주세요.


송년회는 한국의 연말연시 문화 중 독특한 부분이다. 누구나 12월이 되면 모임 자리가 많아지는데 바로 이 송년회 때문이다. 해가 가기 전에 친구, 지인, 동료들과 함께 한자리에 모여 식사를 하며 한 해가 지나가는 것을 기념한다. 한 사람이 적게는 한두 개에서 많게는 대여섯 개의 송년회 모임을 가기도 한다. 이러한 송년회 자리에는 술이 빠지지 않아서, 이맘때는 평소보다 음주를 많이 하게 된다.

Year-end parties are a unique aspect of Korea's holiday season. Most people have lots of get-togethers in December. It's because of these year-end parties. Before the year comes to an end, people gather with friends, acquaintances, and coworkers. They share a meal and mark the occasion of the year's end. People might attend just one or two parties, or as many as five or six. Drinks are ever-present at these year-end parties. People drink more than usual during this time of year.

나는 올해 송년회 모임을 총 세 차례 갔다. 맨 처음 직장 동료들과 송년회가 있었다. 다 같이 힘을 모아서 열심히 일한 것을 서로 격려하는 식사 자리였다. 그다음 참석한 송년회는 친구들과의 모임이었다. 오랜 친구들과 분위기 좋은 바에 가서 와인을 마시며 즐거운 시간을 보냈다. 마지막으로 함께 성당에 다니는 교인들과 송년회 모임을 가졌다. 낮에는 함께 봉사 활동을 하고, 저녁에 같이 식사를 하며 송년회 자리를 가졌다. 이러한 송년 모임은 내 주변에 소중한 사람들을 되돌아보는 계기가 되었다.

I attended a total of 3 year-end parties this year. First, there was a gathering with my office coworkers. As we ate, we gave each other a pat on the back for pulling together and working hard. The next-year-end party I went to was a get-together with my friends. I went to a bar with my oldest friends. The bar had a great ambience, and we had a blast as we drank wine. Finally, I had a year-end party with parishioners at my church. We did volunteer work during the day. Then we partied at night as we ate dinner. These year-end gatherings provided a chance for me to recognize all the great people I know.
