[Model Response]

My ideal type for marriage is someone who is considerate of others and sweats the details. I would like someone who is mindful of others, and big-hearted. I want someone who has their heart in the right place, with a good mindset. I think it would be hard to live with someone with a chip on their shoulder, or someone who is coldly impersonal. I'd like someone with shared interests or hobbies, so that we can keep a conversation going. My ideal type would also be one of a kind, with clear personal priorities and dreams. I don't really care about looks. I'd like my partner's education level to be more or less the same as mine, or higher. Family background and personal wealth aren't a priority. I don't plan to rush marriage. I will take it slow until I find someone right for me.

나의 결혼 이상형은 성격이 자상하고 세심한 사람이다. 상대에 대한 배려심이 있고, 마음이 넓은 사람이었으면 좋겠다. 인성이 착하고 올바른 사고방식을 가진 사람을 원한다. 성격이 삐뚤어지거나, 인간미가 떨어지는 사람과는 같이 살기 힘들 것 같다. 그리고 공통 관심사나 취미가 있어서 대화가 잘 통하는 사람이었으면 좋겠다. 또한 내 이상형은 개성도 있고, 본인의 주관과 꿈이 있는 사람이었으면 한다. 외모는 크게 신경 쓰지 않는다. 학력은 나와 얼추 비슷하거나 높았으면 좋겠다. 집안이나 경제력은 크게 중요하다고 생각하지 않는다. 결혼은 서두를 생각이 없고, 나에게 잘 맞는 사람을 만날 때까지 여유 있게 생각하려고 한다.

ideal type
이상형
우리는 각자의 이상형에 대해 자주 이야기하지만 영어권에서는 상대적으로 그런 경우가 드물다. 따라서 ideal type보다는 Mr.Right(남자)나 Mrs.Right(여자)라는 표현을 자주 쓰는데, 이는 '내가 원하는 사람'보다는 '내게 잘 맞는 사람'을 뜻하기 때문에 뉘앙스가 조금 다르다.
 
예) I don't really have an ideal type. (딱히 이상형은 없어.)
You never know when you will meet Mrs.Right. (너한테 잘 맞는 사람을 언제 만나게 될지 알 수 없어.)
