<말하기 연습>
My child is a high school senior this year. He came to China at the age of 7 and has been attending an international school for 12 years. He has never attended school in Korea, so he seems to have an idealized view of life in Korea.
우리 아이는 올해 12학년이다. 7살에 중국에 와서 12년째 국제 학교를 다니고 있다. 한국에서 학교를 다녀 본 적이 없어서, 한국 생활에 대한 로망이 있는 것 같다.

This is a college admissions system in Korea for students who have received their education abroad. This special system can provide an advantage over students applying through regular admissions in Korea. Even so, my child is keeping busy with student council activities and weekly exams.
그래서, 대학은 '재외 국민 특별 전형' 제도를 이용해 한국에서 다닐 예정이다. 재외 국민 특별 전형 은 해외에서 교육을 받은 학생들을 위한 대한민국의 대학 입시 제도이다. 사실 이 특례 제도를 이용하면 한국의 일반적인 입시로 대학을 가려는 학생들보다는 조금 유리할 수 있다. 그렇지만, 아이는 지금 학생회 활동과 매주 시험을 보며 바쁜 시간을 보내고 있다.

Around this time next year, he will be a college student. To me, he still seems like a kid who needs his mom's constant nagging. Knowing that he will soon be leaving our side makes me feel proud, but also a little sad.
내년 이맘때쯤에는 아이는 대학생이 되어 있을 것이다. 내가 보기에는 아직도 엄마의 잔소리를 계속 들어야 하는 아이 같은데, 이제 곧 부모 곁을 떠난다고 생각하니 기특하면서도 한편으로 섭섭한 느낌이 든다.
