<말하기 연습>
I enjoy desserts even more than the main course in a meal. A bowl of rice contains 300 calories, but most desserts are much higher in calories. If I had eaten hearty meals and had less desserts, I might had a slimmer figure.
나는 식사할 때 밥보다 오히려 디저트를 더 좋아한다. 밥 한 그릇이 300칼로리라면, 대부분의 디저트는 이보다 칼로리가 훨씬 높다. 밥 한끼를 든든하게 먹고 디저트를 적게 먹었다면, 나는 아마도 지금보다 날씬했을 것이다.

But there are so many delicious desserts in the world. It's not easy to resist the temptation of sweets like ice cream, chololate, cake, cookies, and more. Yakgwa, a traditional Korean cookie, has been all the rage recently. They are readily available in convenience stores and supermarkets.
그러나 세상에는 맛있는 디저트들이 너무 많다. 아이스크림, 초콜릿, 케이크, 쿠키 등 달콤한 음식의 유혹을 떨쳐 버리기가 쉽지 않다. 최근에는 우리나라 전통 과자인 약과 열풍이 불어서, 편의점이나 마트에서 쉽게 구입할 수 있다.

Even as I write this in the middle of the night, I can't stop thinking about dessert. I think I'll put a scoop of ice cream on a frozen yakgwa and have just one bite. Just thinking about it makes me happy.
이 사연을 쓰고 있는 이 야심한 밤에도 디저트 생각이 머리에서 떠나지 않는다. 꽁꽁 얼어 있는 약과에 아이스크림을 한 숟갈 올려서 한 입만 먹어야 겠다. 생각만 해도 행복하다.
