Too Much Stuff at Home.
I am a dad of two daughters, in my 16th year of marriage. After 16 years of married life, our house is overflowing with various odds and ends.
My wife is touchy about throwing away items that have fallen into disuse. She says that they will all come in handy someday if we hold onto them. But my take on the issue is that items that haven't been used in years will continue to be useless. However, my words always fall on deaf ears.
So, whenever I try to get rid of things, I have to do it behind my wife's back. The funny thing is, she never catches on that things disappear from the house. But if I ever get caught in the act, I have to endure a few days of my wife getting on my case.
물건으로 점령당한 주거 공간.
저는 결혼한 지 16년이 된 두 딸아이의 아빠입니다. 결혼 생활을 16년째 하고 보니 집 안에는 온갖 물건들로 넘쳐납니다.
아내는 쓰지 않는 물건들을 버리는 것에 대해 민감한 반응을 보입니다. 일단 갖고 있으면 언젠 가는 쓸 일이 생길 거라고 말합니다. 그런데 몇 년간 사용하지 않는 물건들은 앞으로도 쓸 일이 생길 거라고 말합니다. 그런데 몇 년간 사용하지 않은 물건들은 앞으로도 쓸 일이 없다는 것이 저의 지론입니다. 하지만 제 말은 항상 통하지가 않습니다.
그래서 물건들을 없애려면 항상 아내 몰래 해야 합니다. 재미있는 사실은 물건이 집에서 없어져도 아내가 전혀 눈치를 채지 못한다는 것입니다. 그러나 버리다가 발각이 되면, 아내의 폭풍 같은 잔소리를 며칠 간 참고 들어야 합니다.
