Getting braces.
It feels like most kids these days get braces. You can see kids wearing braces everywhere. People braces to align and straighten teeth. It is also done to correct a protruding mouth, which can make the overall facial structure a bit easier on the eyes.
Our daughter got a bad snaggletooth as she got older, so we took her to the dentist. They took a dental scan which let us get a good look at the arrangement of her teeth. The dentist our daughter would need braces. The malocclusion was so bad that she would need to have four teeth pulled. Overall, the process would take at least two years.
So, our daughter got her braces. Often, she is in pain and has to take extra care when she eats. But I hope that it will work out well, so that she can enjoy a healthier set of teeth and an even prettier face.
치아 교정.
요즘 아이들은 대부분 치아 교정을 받는 것 같아요. 교정기를 낀 아이들을 어디서나 볼 수 있어요. 사람들은 치열을 바로잡기 위해 교정을 해요. 돌출된 입 모양을 바로잡기 위해서도 하는데, 이렇게 하면 전체적인 얼굴 형태가 더 예뻐질 수 있어요.
저희 딸도 커 가면서 덧니가 심하게 나서 치과에 데리고 갔어요. 치과에서 구강 스캔 사진을 찍어 보았더니 아이의 치열을 자세히 살펴볼 수 있었어요. 치과 선생님은 저희 딸이 교정이 필요하다고 했어요. 부정 교합이 너무 심해서 치아 4개를 발치해야 한다고 했어요. 전반적으로 최소한 2년 이상의 시간이 걸린다고 하더라고요.
그래서 저희 딸은 치아 교정을 시작했어요. 아이가 자주 아파하기도 하고, 먹을 때도 특별히 조심해야 해요. 그렇지만, 교정이 무서히 잘 돼서 치아도 더 건강해지고 얼굴도 더 예뻐졌으면 좋겠습니다.
