Talk about the challenge of writing a book.
I am an avid reader. I like to record my thoughts on a book, as well as memorable passages. But one day, I started to think that I would like to write myself.
After searching online, I learned that there are sites will make books for you. I found a site where I could wirte essays about myself so I took the plunge and signed up. The goal is to write about a keyword of the day, every day for a month.
There was a wide variety of topics covered, including autumn, regrets, and travel. I tried to put into words how I felt about each topic. Every day, I realized my lack of experience and limited powers of expression. Still, it was a chance for me to reflect on myself.
In the end, my 30 essays were compiled into a book. I'm still too embarrassed to show it to anyone else. But this book of my own, filled with my inner self, will surely become my most prized possession.
나는 책 읽기를 무척 좋아한다. 책에 대한 감상뿐 아니라 인상깊은 구절을 기록해 두는 것을 즐긴다. 그런데 어느날 나도 직접 글을 써보고 싶다는 생각이 들기 시작했다.
인터넷 검색을 해보니 책을 만들어 주는 사이트들이 있다는 것을 알게 되었다. 나에 대한 에세이를 쓸 수 있는 사이트를 발견해서 과감히 신청했다. 한 달 간 매일 "오늘의 키워드"를 주제로 글을 쓰는 것이 목표이다.
가을, 후회, 여행 등의 다양한 주제를 다뤘다. 나는 각 주제에 대한 나의 생각을 글로 표현하려고 했다. 경험의 부족과 표현력의 한계를 느꼈지만, 스스로를 돌아볼 수 있는 기회이기도 했다.
마침내 30편의 에세이를 엮어 한 권의 책이 나왔다. 다른 사람에게 보여주기에는 아직 너무 부끄럽다. 그래도 나의 내면이 오롯이 담긴 나만의 이 책은 분명 보물 1호가 될 것이다.
