Describe the benefits of having friends from other countries.
I often meet people from English-speaking countries in Korea because of my line of work. There are many advantages to meeting people from overseas this way.
Firstly, I can learn about different cultures. People in Korea from abroad tent to try to adapt to Korea people. But sometimes, I can still feel the cultural gap. When that hapepens, we teach each other and learn about our respective cultures.
It's also possible to brush up on my English. I can really feel in the fresh how different real-life spoken English is from the expressions I learned in textbooks. Whenever I meet my foreign friends, I realize "this is why I learn English!"
외국인 친구를 사귀는 장점에 대해 이야기해 주세요.
나는 직업의 특성상 한국에서 영어권 국가 출신의 사람들을 자주 만난다. 이렇게 외국인들과 만남을 가지게 되면 여러 장점이 있다.
먼저, 다양한 문화에 대해 배울 수 있다. 한국에 온 외국인들은 한국 사람들한테 맞춰 주려는 경향이 있긴 하다. 그렇지만 여진히 문화 차이를 느낄 때가 있다. 그럴때 서로 알려주면서 각자의 문화를 배우게 된다.
또한 영어 학습이 가능하다. 실생활에서 쓰이는 영어가 교과서에서 배웠던 표현들과 얼마나 다른지 몸소 느낄 수 있다. 외국인 친구들을 만날 때마다 "이래서 영어를 배우는 구나~"하고 깨닫게 된다.
