[입트영] 12월 10일 Why Korean Kids Learn Taekwondo. 한국 아이들이 태권도를 배우는 이유.

Talk about why Korean kids learn taekwondo at a young age.

Many kids in Korean attend taekwondo academies when they are young. There are a number of reasons why parents have their kids learn taekwondo.

The biggest reason is that taekwondo is good physical training. It helps kids stay healthy as they grow up. Kids expend a lot of energy through taekwondo, so they really dig in when they eat dinner at home. They also sleep soundly. Taekwondo is also good for building character. The children don't mess with the taekwondo master, who appears strong to them. This way, the kids learn proper manners.

Also, the tuition fees for a taekwondo academy aren't too expensive. Apart from the uniforms, there are few additional costs. Plus, every season the kids go on picnics on weekends. During summer and winter breaks, they go on training retreats, which give parents a break. The students play various games in addition to taekwondo, and some places throw birthday parties for the kids, too.

한국 아이들이 어릴 때 태권도를 배우는 이유에 대해 이야기해 주세요.​

우리나라에서는 상당수의 아이들이 어릴 때 태권도 학원에 다닌다. 부모가 아이들에게 태권도를 배우게 하는 데는 여러 가지 이유가 있다.​

가장 큰 이유는 태권도가 체력 단련에 효과적이라서, 아이들이 건강하게 자랄 수 있도록 해 준다는 점이다. 아이들은 태권도를 하면서 에너지를 많이 소비하기 때문에, 집에서 밥도 잘 먹고, 잠도 잘 잔다. 뿐만 아니라 태권도는 인성을 기르는 데도 큰 도움이 된다. 아이들은 태권도 사범님이 강해 보이기 때문에 함부로 대하지 못하는데, 이런 식으로 올바른 예절을 배우게 된다.

또한 태권도 학원비는 별로 비싸지 않다. 유니폼을 제외하면 특별히 추가되는 비용이 거의 없다. 게다가 철마다 주말에 소풍을 가고, 여름 방학과 겨울 방학에 수련회를 가서 부모들에게 쉴 기회를 제공한다. 태권도뿐만 아니라 다양한 놀이도 하고, 아이들의 생일 파티를 해 주는 곳도 있다.
