Veterinarians provide medical treatment for animals. They work in clinical and non-clinical fields. In the clinical field, there are large animal vets who deal with livestock animals such as cows, horses, pigs, and chickens. Small animal vets treat companion animals like dogs and cats. There are other vets who specialize in reptiles, insects, or aquatic animals.
There are vets in non-clinical fields as well. Some lend their efforts to quarantine measures to stop the spread of infectious diseases like foot-and-mouth disease. Veterinarians are also involved in butchering animals and the process of managing meat.

수의사는 동물을 진료하는 직업이다. 수의사는 임상과 비임상 분야에 종사하고 있다. 임상 분야에서는 소, 말, 돼지, 닭과 같은 가축을 진료하는 대동물 수의사가 있다. 그리고 개와 고양이 같은 반려동물을 진료하는 소동물 수의사가 있다. 또한 파충류, 곤충, 수생 동물을 전문으로 하는 수의사도 있다.
