STEP 1

Talk about the glasses you use in your life.
평소 사용하는 안경에 대해 이야기해 주세요.

[Response]

I usually wear contacts when I go outside, but I wear my glasses at home. It's because it gets uncomfortable to wear contacts all day long. I have two pairs of glasses. One is for getting comfy at home. The other pair is more fashion forward, and I wear it when I go somewhere. My eyesight is quite different for each eye. The lenses were made to reflect this. I also have a pair of shades to wear when it's sunny. I usually wear the sunglasses when I drive, so I keep them in the car.

[해석]

밖에 외출할 때는 주로 렌즈를 끼지만, 집에서는 안경을 쓴다. 하루 종일 렌즈를 끼고 있으연 불편해서 그렇다. 두 개의 안경이 있는데, 하나는 집에서 편하게 쓰는 안경이다. 다른 하나는 외출 시 착용하는 좀 더 세련된 안경이다. 내 양쪽 눈의 시력 차이가 제법 나는 편이어서, 안경 렌즈도 그에 맞게 제작을 했다. 햇빛이 강할 때 쓰는 선글라스도 있다. 주로 운전할 때 사용하기 때문에 차에 보관한다.

[Response]

I have poor vision, so I have worn contacts for a long time. Way back in the day, I had to clean contacts at night after wearing them during the day. Then I wore them again the next day. It felt like a chore to have contacts. Then, disposable contacts hit the market. Now, instead of cleaning and reusing contacts, I throw them out when I am done with them. It's convenient because I don't need to reuse them. There are also circle lenses that make the iris's color look darker or change it altogether. You can take really great pictures if you wear them.

[해석]

나는 시력이 좋지 않아서, 오래전부터 렌즈를 착용해 왔다. 예전에는 렌즈를 낮에 끼고, 저녁에 세척해서 다음 날 다시 사용했었다. 렌즈를 사용하는 건 정말 번거롭게 느껴졌다. 그러다가 일회용 렌즈가 출시되었다. 이제는 렌즈를 사용하고 세척해서 다시 쓰는 것이 아니라 다 쓰고 나면 버리면 된다. 재사용을 하지 않아도 되어 정말 편리하다. 눈동자의 색상을 더 진하게 해 주거나 다른 색상으로 바꿔 주는 서클 렌즈도 있다. 서클 렌즈를 끼고 사진을 찍으면 정말 예쁘게 나온다.
