[STEP1] 집들이에 대해 이야기해 주세요.

한국에서는 새로운 집에 이사를 하면 가족들과 지인들을 초대해서 집들이를 한다. 손님들을 위해 정성껏 음식을 준비한다. 초대를 받은 사람들은 이사한 사람이 새로운 집에서 잘 살기를 바라는 마음으로 방문한다. 이런 마음을 표현하기 위해 작은 선물을 준비한다. 일반적으로 휴지나 세제와 같은 생필품을 사간다. 요즘에는 케이크나 와인과 같이 함께 먹을 수 있는 음식을 가져오는 경우도 많다.

Talk about housewarming parties.

When Koreans move into a new house, they invite family and friends to a housewarming party. They prepare food with great care for the guests. The guests visit with the hope that the resident will be happy in the new house. To express this hope, they prepare small housewarming gifts. Generally, they bring daily necessities like toilet paper or detergent. These days, a lot of people also bring food to share, like cakes or wine.

최근 친구가 새집으로 이사를 해서 집들이에 초대를 받았다. 오랜 기간 착실하게 돈을 모아서 드디어 아파트를 산 친구를 축하해 주고 싶었다. 집들이가 금요일 저녁 시간대여서 마음의 여유가 있는 날이었다. 집들이 선물로는 예쁜 그림이 있는 액자를 하나 골랐다. 그리고 다 같이 먹을 수 있는 아이스크림 케이크도 사 갔다. 친구의 집에 도착하니 맛있는 음식들이 한 상 차려져 있었다. 집 구경도 하고 음식도 배불리 먹고 즐거운 시간을 보냈다. 무척 기억에 남는 집들이였다.

The party was on a Friday night, so I had some peace of mind. As a gift, I chose a pretty framed painting. I also bought an ice cream cake for everyone to share. When I got to my friend's house, there was a smorgasbord of delicious food. We took a tour of the house and stuffed ourselves. We had a whale of a time. It was a very memorable housewarming party.
