가을을 여는 음악회.

<말하기 연습>
On the first weekend morning after the long, sweltering summer finally let up, I went to a concert to welcome the fall. It seemed like the concert organizers felt the same way. I had heard that the program was made up of pieces chosen to soothe minds and bodies worn out from the heat.
너무나 덥고 길었던 여름이 물러간 첫 주말 아침, 나는 가을을 여는 음악회에 다녀왔다. 공연 기획자도 같은 마음이었을까? 더위에 지친 심심을 달래기 위해 선정한 곡들로 프로그램이 구성되었다는 이야기를 들었다.

The moment the first notes of the acappella performance began, all the irritation and discomfort I had felt during the summer seemed to melt away. Throughout the concert, I felt grateful for this sense of release from the bad feelings I had all summer long.
아카펠라로 이루어진 첫 소절이 울리는 순간, 한여름에 느꼈던 짜증과 불쾌함이 모두 날아가는 기분이 들었다. 음악회 동안 여름 내내 가졌던 이런 언짢은 감정으로부터 해방감이 들면서 감사하게 느껴졌다.

Through my wife's facial expression, I could see that she was also letting go of all the stress from the summer. I found myself hopping we could have another opportunity like this at the start of fall next year as well.
아내의 얼굴도 여름의 모든 스트레스로부터 벗어나는 듯한 표정이었다. 내년 가을의 길목에서도 이 같은 기회를 가질 수 있으면 좋겠다는 생각이 들었다.

B: 좋은데요.
A: 곧 적당한 음악회가 있는지 찾아볼게요.
B: 이왕이면 힐링되는 음악들을 들으면 좋겠네요.
