<말하기 연습>
Among different types of cosmetic surgery, I fully understand how procedures like ptosis correction might be necessary due to aging.
다양한 성형 수술 중에, 노화로 인한 안검 하수 교정과 같은 시술은 그 불가피성에 충분히 이해가 간다.

What concerns me personally is cosmetic surgery done purely for aesthetic reasons. For some reason, Korea seems to be particularly obsessed with appearance. Media outlets strongly promote plastic surgery, and it feels like our society as a whole actively encourages it.
그러나 개인적으로 염려가 되는 것은 오로지 미용 목적으로 하는 성형 수술이다. 왠지 한국이란 나라는 유난히도 외모 지상주의가 만연한 듯하다. 온갖 매체에서도 성형을 한껏 부추기는 등 성형을 적극적으로 권하는 사회가 되어 버렸다는 느낌이 든다.

I believe our society urgently needs to change its attitude and respect each individual's natural appearance. I also hope that the media will not just highlight the benefits of cosmetic surgery but also honestly address the possible downsides that come with surgically altered appearances.
우리 사회가 개개인의 자연스러운 외모를 존중하는 식으로 사회 전반의 인식 개선이 시급하다는 생 각이 든다. 아울러 여러 매체에서도 성형의 장점만을 부각하지 말고, 성형한 외모가 가져올 수 있는 잠재적 단점에 대해서도 가감 없이 다루어 주었으면 하는 바람이다.
