I started a part-time job at a distribution center for a parcel delivery company back in May. On my first day, I was worried that it would be a tough grind. I wasn't worng.
Parcels to be delivered to homes and to large-scale supermarkets, shopping malls, and department stores are dealt with separately at the distribution centeer. I was assigned to the latter. The goods were packaged in large boxes, and they weighed an average of at least 10kg.
I was in charge of sorting parcels on a conveyor belt depending on where they were going to be delivered. I did this sorting work for about 4 hours a day, starting at 7 o'clock in the morning.
After the sorting was finished, the parcels were loaded onto delivery trucks. Then, the parcel delivery workers got to work delivering them to thier designated area. The part-time job helped me experience first-hand all the hard work done by the delivery workers.
택배 물류 센터에 대해 이야기해 주세요.
5월부터 택배 회사의 물류 센터에서 아르바이트를 시작했습니다. 출근 첫날에는 일이 너무 힘들지 않을까 걱정이 앞섰습니다. 예상은 빗나가지 않았습니다.
물류 센터에서는 가정집에 배송되는 짐과 대형 마트, 쇼핑몰, 백화점에 배송되는 짐을 따로 나눠서 작업을 합니다. 저는 후자에 배정되었습니다. 상품들이 대형 박스에 포장되어 있었고, 무게가 적어도 평균 10킬로그램 정도는 되었습니다.
저는 컨베이어 벨트에 택배 물품을 배송 지역에 맞게 분류하는 일을 맡았습니다. 아침 7시에 시작해 하루에 4시간 가량 분류 작업을 했습니다.
분류 작업이 끝나면, 택배 물품들이 배송 트럭에 실렸습니다. 그런 다음 택배 기사분들이 각자 맡은 지역으로 배송을 시작했습니다. 저는 아르바이트를 하면서 택배 기사분들의 노고를 몸소 느낄 수 있었습니다.
