A: 왜 그렇게 우울한 표정이야? 뭐 걱정거리 있어?
B: 내가 ABC회사의 주식을 샀는데 그 가치가 떨어졌어.

<말문을 여는 패턴>

1. go down / decrease / drop (떨어지다 / 하락하다 / 급락하다)

The stockprice went down a little bit.

The price of bananas has dropped.

그 주가가 약간 내려갔어요.

<대화>

B: Sure. What's it about?
A: I got a job offer from this company and...
B: You aren't satisfied with the payment, are you?
A: Right. I'm a freelancer, and I like this job, but...
B: Tell them how much you want for the job.
A: I did, but they said the payment was fixed.

A: 어떤일에 대해 네 의견을 들을 수 있을까?
B: 그럼. 뭐에 대한 건데?

Talk about kendo.

Kendo is a martial art that uses a jukdo. A jukdo is a sword made out of bamboo. Its advantages include light and less dangerous than metal or wood.

Kendo is a sport in which the tip and middle of the jukdo are used to strike target areas, including the head, wrists, and waist You wear protective gear, so it's not too dangerous when you are struck. Since swords are used in kendo, it's important to strictly adhere to the three main tenets of the studio. These are respect for the national flag, for the master, and for each other.

In kendo, you can defeat an opponent with proper technique and skill, regardless of age or body type. That's why the sport is being touted as a self-defense martial art these days.

검도에 대해 이야기해 주세요.

검도는 죽도를 이용하는 무술이다. 죽도는 대나무로 만든 칼인데, 가볍고 쇠나 나무보다 덜 위험하다는 장점을 가지고 있다.

검도는 죽도의 끝부분과 중간 부분을 이용해 머리, 손목, 허리 등의 격자 부위를 치는 운동이다. 보호 장비를 착용하기 때문에 격자 부위를 맞을 때 많이 위험하지는 않다. 검도는 칼을 사용하기 때문에 도장 삼례를 철저히 지키는 것이 중요하다. 도장 삼례로는 국기에 대한 예, 사범에 대한 예, 상호간의 예가 있다.

검도는 나이와 체형에 상관없이 올바른 기술과 실력만 갖추고 있으면 충분히 상대를 이길 수 있다. 그래서 검도는 요즘 호신술로 각광받고 있는 스포츠이기도 하다.
