Talk about how moms teach children English.

When my daughter was about 36 months old, I came across content about mom-taught English lessons on social media. Ever since then, I've been reading aloud two or three English books to my daughter every night at bedtime. I've read some books to her dozens of times.

4 months since then, my daughter can't read yet, but she pretend to. That's because she knows the books by heart. Kids' brains are like sponges; they soak up information.

Mom-taught English refers to moms setting the tone for kids to learn English. Kids can pick up a language with little resistance when they are young. Moms can help them experience English from a young age.

Moms can read English picture books to their kids, or turn on audiobooks. And when the kids are little older, they can be shown English video content so that they can get accustomed to the language.

엄마표 영어 수업방법에 대해 이야기해 주세요.

우리 딸이 36개월이 되던 무렵, 우연히 SNS에서 엄마표 영어에 대한 콘텐츠를 접했다. 그 이후로 매일 밤 자기 전에 딸에게 영어 책을 두세권씩 소리냉어 읽어 주고 있다. 어떤 책은 수십 번 반복하여 읽어 주었다.

4달이 지난 지금, 아이가 아직 글을 읽지는 못하지만 읽는 흉내는 낸다. 책을 거의 외워서 그렇다. 아이들의 뇌는 스펀지처럼 지식을 흡수한다.

엄마표 영어는 엄마가 아이에게 영어를 배울 수 있는 환경을 마련해 주는 것을 말한다. 아이들은 어릴 때 언어를 거부감 없이 습득할 수 있기 때문에, 아이들이 어린 나이에 영어를 접할 수 있게 도와주는 것이다.

엄마가 아이에게 영어 그림책을 읽어 주거나 오디오 북을 들려주면 된다. 그리고 아이가 조금 더 크면 영어 영상물을 보여 줌으로써 영어에 더욱 친숙해질 수 있게 하면 된다.
