[Extra Topics for Study Groups]

1. Do you prefer to shop at stores or online? Describe your preference.
2. Share some tips you have to save money while shopping.
3. How is shopping for groceries different from shopping for clothes?

STEP 1

Talk about your shopping habits.

[Response]

In the past, I usually had to go to the store to buy things. I bought clothes at department stores or discount stores, and I bought groceries at supermarkets. But nowadays, I shop online more often. It has become the norm. If I buy a type of food regularly, I order it online and have it delivered. All I have to do is to pick and choose an item on my computer or phone, and pay for it. Buying things has really become a piece of cake.

[Response]

Last weekend, I hit up a shopping mall to buy some clothes for autumn, I wanted to buy a light jacket and a sweater. The mall was teeming with people who were clothes shopping like me. I looked around a few stores, and tried on clothing that caught my eye. After comparing prices, I bought a few items. The jacket was on the pricey side, so I paid of it in installments. I also saw some pretty shoes. Getting shoes was not part of the plan, but I liked them so much that I bought them.
