In the past, people kept photographs in photo albums for safekeeping. Everyone has an album at home, filled with photos that are decades old. Looking at old photos, it's easy to look back on past memories. It's already been 15 years since social media became widespread. Pictures from the past can be stored on personal pages. Some sites remind users of old pictures. People sometimes re-post those pictures. Pictures are a great way to capture memories.

옛날에는 사진을 앨범에 보관했었다. 누구나 몇 십 년 전에 찍은 사진들이 담겨 있는 앨범이 집에 하나씩은 있다. 옛날 사진들을 보며 옛 추억을 회상할 수 있다. 소셜 미디어가 본격적으로 대중화된 지 벌써 15년이나 되었다. 그래서 예전에 찍었던 사진들을 개인 페이지에 저장할 수 있다. 일부 사이트들은 사용자들에게 오래 전 사진들을 다시 상기시켜 준다. 그러한 사진을 자신의 페이지에 다시 포스팅하는 경우도 있다. 사진은 추억을 담는 좋은 방법이다.

Now and again, I look at pictures that I took in school. They remind me of my old school days. Sometimes, I come across pictures I took with old flames. They remind me of the sense of yearning I felt when we were going steady. If we broke up on bad terms, I might remember how I had a rough time. Finally, I also see photos of people who have passed away from time to time. When I do, I sometimes feel a pang because I miss them dearly.

 

[해석]

학교 다닐 때 찍은 사진들을 가끔 보게 된다. 학창 시절의 기억을 떠오르게 해 주는 사진들이다. 때로는 옛 애인들과 찍은 사진들을 접하게 되는 경우도 있다. 만나던 당시에 애틋했던 기억들이 떠오른다. 가슴 아픈 이별을 한 경우에는 당시 힘들었던 기억이 나기도 한다. 마지막으로, 이미 돌아가신 분들의 사진들을 접하기도 한다. 그럴 때는 몹시 그리워서 마음이 찡해지기도 한다.
