[Response]
Cancer is one of the major illnesses that pose a threat to our health. The most common form of cancer in Korea is stomach cancer. Then, there are intestinal, thyroid, lung, breast, and liver cancer, in order of how often they occur. Medical technology has come a long way. Cancer can be treated through chemo and by undergoing surgery. The five-year survival rate for cancer patients is much higher now. In particular, those with a family history of cancer should really pay close attention to their health. Early diagnosis through regular check-ups is especially important.

[Response]
According to recent statistics, the likelihood of getting cancer is roughly 35% for people who live to 82, Korea’s average life expectancy. Odds are, one in three people will get cancer. That’s why a lot of people sign up for cancer insurance, to hedge against getting sick. Cancer-treating medical technology has made good progress. Cancer survival rates have risen. However, a cancer diagnosis will certainly come as a shock to the patient and his or her family. Poor lifestyle habits like smoking are triggers for cancer, and should be avoided.
