Talk about the heating system in Korea.
한국의 난방 시스템에 대해 이야기해 주세요.

In western countries, it's customary to heat a home by using hot air. But houses in Korea use a unique heating system. Pipes are installed under the floor, and hot water flows through the pipes. The warm floor then heats up the air inside. As the air circulates, the room temperature becomes warmer. People can set the temperature differently for each room. This unique heating method at Korean homes goes back hundreds of years.

[해석]

서양에서는 뜨거운 공기를 이용해 집안을 따뜻하게 하는 것이 일반적이다. 그러나 한국 주택은 독특한 난방 방식을 사용한다. 바닥 아래 배관을 설치해서 그 배관을 통해 뜨거운 물이 지나가게 된다. 따뜻한 바닥은 실내 공기를 데운다. 공기가 순환하면서 실내 온도가 따뜻해진다. 각 방마다 온도를 다르게 설정할 수도 있다. 한국 주택의 이런 독특한 난방 방식의 유래는 수백 년 전으로 거슬러 올라간다.

To save cash on the heating bill in the winter, I keep the temperature inside at a suitable level. To stay warm while I sleep, I put an electric mat on the bed. The heat from the mat keeps the bed nice and toasty. It doesn't get cold at all. I can use it at whatever temperature I see fit. Electric mats are useful, but you have to be careful when you use them. Too high a temperature can cause low temperature burns. If the mat is damaged, you run the risk of starting a fire. That's why you should always exercise caution when you use an electric mat.

[해석]

겨울에 난방비를 아끼기 위해서 실내 온도를 적정 수준으로 유지한다. 자는 동안 따뜻하게 유지하기 위해 침대에 전기 매트를 깔아 둔다. 매트에서 나오는 열로 침대가 따뜻해지기 때문에 전혀 춥지 않다. 내가 원하는 온도로 맞춰서 사용이 가능하다. 전기 매트는 유용하지만 사용할 때 주의해야 한다. 온도가 너무 높으면 저온 화상을 입을 수 있다. 매트가 파손될 경우, 화재를 유발할 위험이 있다. 그렇기 때문에 전기 매트를 사용할 때는 항상 주의해야 한다.
