입트영(2019.11.08) - Overdrinking / 과음

[Extra Topics for Study Groups]
1. Why do people sometimes drink too much?
2. What is your favorite way to cure a hangover?
3. What would you say to a friend who is drinking too much?
STEP 1
Talk about what happens when people overdrink.
[Response]
It's best to drink in moderation. Drinking too much can get you drunk. It's easy to make unexpected mistakes while under the influence. You might say something you shouldn't, or do something that you might come to regret. A drunk person could fall asleep in random places, or misplace things. They could take a fall and get hurt. Some might get in a fight with others. That's why it's best to drink an appropriate amount, and at one's own pace. It's easier said than done, but it's still good to make an effort.

[Response]
Last week, I met my friends for the first time in ages. We had a few drinks with dinner. I had a lot on my mind. I was having a rough time at work, and I had problems with my family. It was nice to be able to open up to my friends while we drank. But because of my mood, I drank over my limit. I was completely drunk by the time I got home. The next day, I had a splitting headache and I felt sick. I felt nauseous, and I threw up in the bathroom. It was so bad, I went to the drugstore and got a hangover tonic. After sleeping a little more, I felt myself again. I promised myself I would never drink so much again.
