한국 문화에서 나이는 상당히 중요한 요소다. 누군가를 처음 만나면 한국 사람들은 그들의 나이를 궁굼해한다. 나이가 많은 사람에게 예우를 하는 문화 때문이다. 남녀 관계에서도 나이가 중요한 요소로 작용 한다. 남자가 나이가 더 많은 커플들이 대부분이기는 하지만, 요즘에는 그와는 반대로 여자가 나이가 더 많은 커플의 수가 점점 증가하고 있다. 이렇게 나이를 중시하는 문화에는 장점도 있지만, 때로는 나이가 많다고 무조건 자기 마음대로 하려는 사람들도 있다는 단점도 있다.

Age is an important factor in Korean culture. When Koreans meet someone for the first time, they wonder about the person's age. It's because Korean culture affords respect to older people. Age also comes into play in romantic relationships. In most couples, the man is older. However, that trend is being reversed these days. Couples in which the woman is older are growing in number. This culture that puts an emphasis on age has some benefits. However, a drawback is that some people try to have their way just because they are older.
