<말하기 연습>
As children grow older, many perents start preparing for separate sleeping arrangements. But when we moved to a new home, my spouse and I opted instead to buy a large bed so we could sleep together with our children. As the kids grew, our bed had become too small.
아이들이 크면 분리 수면을 준비하기 시작하는 부모들이 많다. 하지만 우리 부부는 이사를 하면서 오히려 아이들과 함께 자기 위해 큰 침대를 들였다. 아이들이 커 가면서 기존 침대가 너무 좁아졌기 때문이다.

Of course, if we made the switch to separate beds, we could enjoy better quality sleep without accidentally getting kicked in the face when the kids toss and turn. But we realized that the precious days of chatting with the kids before falling asleep or reading them bedtime stories might not last as we'd like.
물론 분리 수면을 하면 아이들이 뒤척일 때 아이들 발에 얼굴을 맞을 일도 없어, 양질의 수면을 취 할 수 있다. 그렇지만 아이들과 수다를 떨다 잠이 들거나, 베갯머리에서 동화책을 읽어 줄 수 있는 소중한 날들이 생각보다 길지 않을 것 같다는 생각이 들었다.

​So, we plan to continue sleeping together until the children themselves want to sleep separately. Talking to each other and cozying up together on quiet nights feels very precious to us.
그래서 아이들이 따로 자고 싶다고 할 때까지 계속 함께 잘 계획이다. 고요한 밤, 아이들과 함께 도란거리며 살갗이 부대끼는 순간들이 우리에게 너무나 소중하다.
