Talk about long-distance relationships.

My boyfriend and I are in a long-distance relationship. It takes an hour by train to travel between Cheonan and Daegu. Door-to-door, including the time it takes to get to the train, the total travel time is over two hours. As the saying goes, "out of sight, out of mind." But so far, our relationship hasn't really taken a hit.

Many people are in long-distance relationships these days, for a variety of reasons. Dating this way requires high transportation costs just to see each other. We often feel sorry for ourselves beause we can't meet when we need each other. But because we spend time apart, each of us has more time to invest in ourselves.

Having faith in each other and respection each other's private life is very important in a long-distance relationship. It's easier said than done, But looking out for each other and maintaining a healthy relationship takes a lot of work.

장거리 연애에 대해 이야기해 주세요.

나는 남자 친구와 장거리 연애를 하고 있다. 천안과 대구 사이를 이동하는 데 기차로 한 시간이 걸린다. 집을 나와 기차를 타러 가는 시간까지 감안한다면 총 이동 시간이 두 시간 이상 걸린다. "눈에서 멀어지면, 마음에서도 멀어진다."라는 속담이 있기는 하지만, 아직까지 우리 관계에 큰 지장은 없다.

요즘 많은 사람들이 다양한 이유로 장거리 연애를 하고 있다. 이러한 연애를 하면, 서로 만나기 위해서 교통비가 꽤 많이 든다. 그리고 서로가 필요할 때 만날 수 없어서 아쉬울 때가 많다. 그러나 떨어져 지내기 때문에 그 만큼 자신에게 투자할 수 있는 시간이 더 많기는 하다.

장거리 연애를 하면 서로를 신뢰하고 서로의 사생활을 존중해 주는 자세가 매우 중요하다. 말처럼 쉬운 일은 아니지만 서로를 배려하며 좋은 관계를 유지하기 위해 많은 노력을 해야 한다.
