Talk about eco-friendly energy.

New renewable energy refers to converting and using energy from renewable sources like sunlight, water, wind, geothermal heat, and microorganisms. It also includes reusing energy from fossil fuels like coal and petroleum, which are traditional energy sources.

Solar energy uses sunlight, and wind energy harnesses power from wind. Hydropower uses water, and bioenergy comes from fermenting plants and animals. Geothermal energy makes use of underground water, or heat from the earth.

Fossil fuels pollute the air and emit carbon in huge amounts. This makes them a major cause of environmental pollution, as well as global climate change. In contrast, new renewable energy sources create a negligible amount of pollutants. They create lower carbon emissions, and they are endlessly replenishable.

친환경 에너지에 대해 이야기해 주세요.

신재생 에너지란 햇빛, 물, 바람, 지열, 미생물 등과 같이 재생이 가능한 에너지원을 변환하여 사용하는 것을 말한다. 전통적인 에너지원인 석탄과 석유 같은 화석 연료를 재활용하는 것도 이에 해당한다.

햇빛을 이용하면 태양열 에너지이고, 바람을 이용하면 풍력 에너지이다. 물을 이용하면 수력 에너지이고, 동식물을 발효시켜 에너지를 얻으면 바이오 에너지다. 지하수나 땅속의 열을 이용하는 것은 지열 에너지 이다.

화석 연료는 대기를 오염시키고 많은 양의 탄소를 배출한다. 이로 인해 환경 오염뿐만 아니라 지구 기후 변화의 주요 원인이 되기도 한다. 반면, 신재생 에너지원이 배출하는 오염 물질은 극소량이다. 탄소 배출량도 더 적고 무한하게 얻을 수 있다.
