Talk about the garbage problems created by the COVID-19 outbreak.

People order delivery for food or goods very often because of social distancing measures. This means that there has been a spike in the use of plastics and disposable containers used for delivery and packaging. A staggering amount of trash is being created as a result.

Also, wearing a mask has become a way of life for all people. Most masks are single-use, so a huge amount is being thrown away as trash. What's more, billions of people the world over will be getting vaccinated for COVID-19. That means that billions of disposable syringes will be thrown away.

Trying to reduce waste in this situation is a must. When ordering delivery, both vendors and consumers must try to cut down on the use of disposable goods. We should also raise the recycling rate by properly sorting our trash.

코로나 19로 생긴 쓰레기 문제에 대해 이야기해 주세요.

사회적 거리 두기 조치때문에 음식이나 물건을 배달시키는 경우가 매우 많아졌다. 그러다 보니 배달과 포장에 들어가는 플라스틱과 일회용 용기의 사용이 급증했다. 이 때문에 엄청난 양의 쓰레기가 배출되고 있다.

또한, 모든 사람들에게 마스크 착용이 생활화되었다. 마스크는 대부분 일회용이라서, 엄청난 양이 쓰레기로 버려지고 있다. 게다가 앞으로 전 세계 수십억 명이 코로나19 백신 예방 접종을 맞게 된다. 그 말은 수십억 개의 일회용 주사기가 쓰레기로 배출될 것이라는 뜻이다.

이러한 상황 속에서 쓰레기 양을 줄이려는 노력은 반드시 필요하다. 배달 주문을 할때, 판매자와 소비자 모두 일회용품 사용을 줄이려는 노력을 해야 한다. 더불어, 쓰레기 분리수거를 철처히 해서 재활용율을 높여야 한다.
